Dear students,
Our topic this time will be U.S. politics: the presidential candidates for the 2016 election. Write a short paragraph in which you answer some or all of the following questions:
1. What do you know about the Democratic and Republican parties ( L8 students: think about your reading last term)?
2. If you had to choose one of these parties, to which would you belong? Why?
3. What do you know about the current candidates?
4. Choose one of them and tell what you think their strengths and weaknesses are.

Democratic Party was found in 1824 and Republican Party was found in 1854. Democratic Parties are more liberal and left leaning.However， Republican Parties are more conservative and disagree most philosophies with Democratic Party. I think I belong to Democratic party. Because i support on most of policies they support，such as gay rights，gun control，immigration，raising taxes on the wealthy and lowering taxes for the middle class. For Democratic Party，I only know Former US Secretary of State Hillary Cilinton. For Republican Party，I know 2 candidates：Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush and Businessman Donald Trump. As the Former US Secretary of State and the wife of former US President Bill Clinton，she is very famous in the world and has chance of beccoming the first female president of the US ever. Jeb Bush is the second son of the Former President George H.W.Bush and younger brother of Former President George W. Bush. Donald Trump is the

She is most famous leader in the Democrat Party except current Vice President Joe Biden. Secondly，she is a female and get most female support as she said that its time for a woman president . For weakness，she does not have any significant political successes in all of her time in public life and she is not young compare to other candidates. what is more，she has lots of bad ruputations about illegally managed emails，fundraising activities that she can not explain convincingly.

DeleteDemocratic party is onw of the two major parties in the United states. The main idea of this party is based on liberalism, which is fond of labor unions, equal opportunities and mixed economy. The second party is Republican party, whcih idea is based on conservatism. It means that republicans are fond of restriction on illegal immigration, restrictions on labor unions. If I had to choose between these two parties, maybe I would choose Democratic party, because they have good ideas and they are fond of continuing development of the country. Also they give equal opportunities to each person in the United States.
ReplyDeleteComing elections 2016 of the President of the United States of America is a world wide talked topic. Because it has its own character and atmosphere, especially before elections. The main factor is that US has a lot of candidates, which can make promotions about themselves. For example, in my country we have the same president for 24 years. In my opinion, the most popular candidates are Hilary Clinton and Donald Trump. Actually I don't know about these candidates too much, but I know that Donald Trump is a businessmen, billioner, who knows how to make money. I think he is good candidate as the president of the United States. Because he already made his own capital and obviously knows how to direct a big organization. But on other hand, he might be a lazy president, because he reached a lot of things, while he was maing billions. And maybe he would not have big motivation to develop country futher.

DeleteThe United States has two major contemporary political parties. One is the Democratic Party, the other is the Republican Party. The Democratic Party is the oldest political party in the world. “Liberalism" has shaped much of the party's agenda since 1932. Since the 2006 midterm elections the Democratic Party is the majority party for the 110th Congress; the party holds an outright majority in the United States House of Representatives and the Democratic caucus constitutes a majority in the United States Senate. Republicans believe in self-determination, strict adherence to the Constitution. Currently the party's platform is generally based upon American conservatism, in contrast to the Democratic Party, whose members endorse more liberal policies.
ReplyDeleteIf I had to choose one of these parties, I think I will choose the Democratic Party. Because the Democratic advocates the equality between different races. Also, on the social issues, the Democratic has a tolerant attitude about homosexuality, abortion, divorce, etc.
I’m not very familiar with the current candidates. Hillary Clinton is the only candidate that I know. She has very good qualification and experience. Also，Hillary Clinton used to be the first lady, she is very familiar with the domestic policy.She is a supporter of the strategic commitment to rebalance U.S. efforts and investments toward Asia.

Blue is a symbol color for Democratic party and red is a symbol for Republican party.The difference between Republicans and Democrats is that Republicans believe people are fundamentally bad, while Democrats see people as fundamentally good.
ReplyDeleteIf I had to choose one of these parties, I think I belong to Democratic. Because they support the universal health care and provide universal preschool education. In addition, they also opposite to use of torture, such as death penalty. They also has many good suggestions about gun control and immigrant issues.This is why i think i belong to Democratic party.
I know president Obama belong Democratic.President Obama will finish his term in 2017.Now, the popular candidates are Hillary Clinton,Martin O'Malley and Bernie Sanders. Hillary used to be the secretary of state for 4 years. Martin O'Malley used to be government of Maryland for 8 years.
Hillary is the most popular candidate in them. She comes form a traditional political family. Her husband is President Clinton. When she was the secretary of state, citizens appreciate her. She has excellent work ability many people believe her. She has enough experiences and supporters. However, She has 67 years old. Some people worried about the age. It has little bit old. They worried that she couldn't deal with things well like before. However, I don't think so. I think the age isn't a problem with clintion.
There are two parties of the United States: Democratic party and Republican party. The symbols of these two parties are honkey and elephant. Also the color blue is the symbol of Democratic party and red is for Republican party. Democratic party, which is the oldest party, was found on 1828. Republican party was found on 1854. Abraham was the first president belong to Republican party. And the president now Obama is belong to Democratic.
ReplyDeleteIf I had to choose one of these parties, I will choose Democratic party. Because I more agree with some ideas of Democratic party, for example: they support to push social welfare policy. they prefer use financial surplus on pushing education and medical.
The current candidates I don't know very much. The only candidate I knew is Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton. She is belong to Democratic party. She have a high approval rating in the U.S, many people think she may will be the first woman president of the U.S. She has good qualification and many experience in political. But her age is a problem, some people think she is old to be a president now.
The United States has two major parties : Democratic and Republican. I don't know many about them, but if I need choose one I will choose the Democratic. America is a freedom, equality and fraternity country. So I think maybe the Democratic major party is suit for this country. The current candidates I only know Hilary Clinton and Donald Trump. Many people don't like Donald Trump, but many people support Hilary. She was the fist lady. If she win, she will be the first woman president.
